surgery?

hi guys, ofc this is something discussed with my doctor but I'm just looking for yall's opinion.

so i (16f) have about 30° curves, S shape. i recently started getting mild back pain (which will probably get stronger as i grow up).

i fear my back will get worse and won't stay stable. so let's say it does—let's say it gets up to 40° in my adult years. do i then get the surgery? is it worth it?

ive read a lot about scoliosis. i think that having the surgery would just close this chapter of life, i could stop worrying about it progressing. yes, i know there are long term effects, but this surgery is getting done more often nowadays and i feel it also depends on the surgeon.

do i just wait and watch? get regular xrays and focus on the gym and stuff like that? and if it does indeed get worse—then get the surgery?

i know that some people have a stable curve which suddenly gets worse after a few years. but the older you are, the worse surgery is. and also I'm still living with my parents and i will be until I'm 19, then I'm leaving the country. so if i were to get surgery at about 18/19 that'd be perfect since I'd have a nice recovery.
