Possible late onset diagnosis for my brother (34)

Hello,

We have no family history of schizophrenia. My brother started getting paranoid about a month ago. In the last 4 weeks he has started to have auditory hallucinations, and became very paranoid. He has become overly emotional etc. he had an episode where he left the house and was gone for hours before returning home because he thought someone was chasing him. He also seemed to get confused when he was talking. He is in the hospital now and they are running tests. He doesn't have any tumors or autoimmune disease that they are able to tell at this time.

We are really worried and upset that he may be schizophrenic and how are are best to support him, his wife and children.

Any advice any similar experiences would be so hopeful.
