Tips for dealing with homeless folks

Hello! I'm pretty new to SF (<1 year) and live in the Mission. There's a homeless man who's been sitting outside my house for a few days now. He's not aggressive, but he gets pretty loud and rowdy, and shouts at people walking by sometimes. What's the best way to handle this situation?
