Just got laid off, wanted to just say thank you

Hey /r/sales

Unfortunately just got laid off this morning along with many other folks at my company. This seemed independent of performance as I saw many top performers like myself and others on the team layoff call. I am still in a bit of shock but at least it wasn't a PIP

I first came to this subreddit when I worked as a barista with no experience in the professional world and a liberal arts degree that was going to do nothing from me. I seldom posted here but man did I learn a lot from lurking your tribal knowledge on this subreddit.

I subscribed to this subreddit and combed through all of our tribal knowledge of how to get into the SDR role. I applied to 187 job postings and did countless interviews till I got my first SDR offer. I was so excited. Here I was at the age of 28 finally able to leave minimum wage and leave my parents house. That was 4 years ago.

The learning from /r/sales didn't stop there, I came to this subreddit when I had my downs and ups as an SDR. I came to this subreddit when I was hoping to move to AE. Once I was promoted, I came to this subreddit when I wanted to learn how to be a better AE.

Now I come here during my first layoff. One of many, I'm sure, in my future in the corporate world.

So I just wanted to say THANK YOU for everything you've helped me with, this subreddit truly changed trajectory of my life.
