Meeting Jewels Sparkles ✨
My friends and I (dark green shirt) had the wonderful opportunity of meeting Jewels Sparkles in Phoenix this past Friday. It was a viewing party so we were lucky enough to be there to see her react to her first win! Jewels is super charismatic, even more than she is on TV. She was kind to each and every person she met during the meet and greet. It was evident that she truly wanted to meet everybody. During the viewing, she gave such great commentary and managed to keep the entire room engaged and laughing. When she was announced as the winner, the entire bar erupted in cheers and applause. I had never been at a viewing party where the RuGirl that was there won the episode. It was a magical experience. She told us a funny side story about her receiving more calls to congratulate her when Ariana Grande followed/mentioned her on IG than when she was announced for Drag Race. She gave an unforgettable performance after the viewing. She had the bar play drag roulette where every person who paid $5 got to pick whatever song the wanted her to perform and she’d do 10-30 seconds of each one. There must’ve been over 25 songs ranging from cotton eye Joe to Selena Quintanilla to, of course, Ariana Grande. Overall, Jewels is such a dynamic entertainer. She is hilarious, stunningly beautiful, and such a mesmerizing performer. I’m so grateful to have gotten to meet her and experience her immense talent 😁✨✨✨
