Thank you for helping me get a massive PB

I just ran a 10K after a 10-week Runna training plan. I was able to bring my time from roughly 49 minutes to roughly 45 minutes.

Throughout the plan I kept thinking that the paces are too aggressive and that I don't have enough easy miles. I stuck to the plan. I did the suggested stretches, I did strength once or twice a week as time permitted. Most importantly I did not get injured, which is a big factor in my assessment of this as a "successful" program. Despite this I just could not envision myself running a 4:30ish pace for 10 kilometers as suggested by Runna. Even on race day I was questioning my goal pace and whether I was going to crash and burn. Despite having a cold my actual pace was only 3 seconds slower than the hereto unbelievable pace suggested by Runna. My mind was blown. I'm signing up for a year of Runna now.

Right before the race I was talking to a chap who proudly told me that he had travelled to another country to buy the latest carbon plated supershoe that's sold out in stores here. During the race I passed a surprising number of runners wearing very recognizable supershoes (including the man I was chatting with). I'm not sharing this to demonstrate some sort of hoi polloi superiority. I know that some people enjoy having nice shoes for no other reason than to have nice shoes, and that's ok. The point is that I realized that at my level of running, the greatest return on my investment is quality training. The advantage that is gained from a very expensive pair of shoes is massively dwarfed by the advantage I gain from training with Runna (for a lot less). Can this advantage be replicated through free training resources? Undoubtedly, but that also takes time and a lot of self-education. The value proposition from Runna is a no-brainer for me. I start my watch and give it my best. That's easy, everything else is looked after. Are there issues? Sure there are small bugs with the app here and there, but nothing that's not eventually fixed or upgraded. Thanks to the team at Runna for all your hard work.
