Are the Casino offers worth it?

I've been getting a lot of offers since my cruise in January. These offers are on ships that look like my family would really enjoy and are for 2 guests. It would be my husband, my kids (4 and 5 at the time we would sail), and I. We really don't do anything additional, but I do like having a refreshments package. My husband would probably purchase a drink or two as he doesn't drink much. Are these offers worth paying for the kids? Is there any hidden things I need to be aware of? Should we upgrade to balcony? I'm new to RC and cruising in general and just trying to make sure I'm not getting caught up in the "deal".

ETA: Offers we are liking are Independence of the Seas for 7 days (Puerto Rico and Perfect Day) or Freedom of the Seas (Perfect Day and Haiti). Looking at November dates.
