Why are cats so misunderstood as pets?

A lot of people assume that cats are always mean, cold, or aloof creatures who intentionally screech or claw at people wanting to cuddle them, which couldn’t be any further from the truth!

Many people only see dogs as “Man’s best friend”, but just because cats don’t pant and stick their tongue out or jump all over you when you come home like dogs do, that doesn’t mean that they don’t show affection in their own way. They’re often just shy at first, but do warm up to you once they trust you.

Lying on their belly for you to pet them, and even them bringing you dead birds is their way of showing gratitude to you.

I honestly wish more people had an appreciation for them as much as they do with dogs.
