EGIS Careers - Here's my experience
Hey everyone. I found this company on LinkedIn but there aren't many reviews so I wanted to share some of my experience to help others.
They are a recruitment firm that collects their fees from candidates they place, not employers. You have to pay a $999 deposit, which they state is refundable, and work with you for three months to try and find you a job. If they don't present an offer that you accept, they refund the deposit. Full disclosure, I was able to get an offer and accepted it so I have no experience with their refund policy so don't ask me.
They do a pretty comprehensive evaluation first of what you're looking for and they were able to get me 6 interviews in total. Two were with larger investment banks (CITI and Raymond James) and then a few smaller companies I had never heard of before. There were two I didn't really want to work for but it was good practice interviewing. I ended up getting an offer after 2.5 months with a private equity firm (Associate role, AUM ~$1bn, 25 employees) and I had to pay an additional $5,000 after I signed my offer letter (total of $6k). 100% worth it in my opinion.
The company does two things. Gets you interviews and helps you prepare for the interviews. I'd be curious to know how successful they are in placing the people that sign up because I imagine they don't place as many people as they claim.
If you're going to sign up, ask to talk to alumni first so you can get an understanding how it works. That's what I did and it made a difference. Good luck to everybody.
