negotiating splits?

newly licensed, sorry in advance, I’m sure it gets old with all the newbie questions! I’ve recently passed my exam and am almost certain I will go with KW as my brokerage, as a new agent I will be part of a coaching/mentor process: first 3 transactions are 50/50 split next 7 are 60/40 and after the 10 total I’ve pretty much “graduated” and am on my own at 70/30. Can I negotiate the mentor splits or is that something I shouldn’t bother with?

Also, just because I am signing with KW and am part of a “coaching” process if you will, that does NOT mean I am part of a TEAM correct? I’m just a little confused here and I don’t want to make a very big commitment to something I shouldn’t have in the first place. Are these splits normal? BTW, Cap is 18,000. Help me please and thanks!🙂
