qbittorrent nox - download folder permission

OS - Linux mint 21

Qbittorrent nox running on root/primary ssd

I'm able to download files if download path is default (root/primary ssd) how every if I change the download folder to a different HDD, /media/user/volume/qbittorrentnox/downloads then I can't start any downloads. Torrent fails, log says "failed". I've tried different permission on the folder root, user and qbittorrent-nox user. I already tried chmod 777/775 to no avail either.
