I can't play B42

IDK if I'm doing something wrong, but I went to Steam properties and picked the "unstable-UNSTABLE-BACKUP FIRTS" beta. Now, the game actually launches but the screen menu doesn't work, it's all black. I can still hear the menu music and the sound of my cursor clicking the different options on the menu. Am I doing something wrong here ? Help !
