is it truly “not over til it’s over”?

had a med student shadow at my lab and was obviously badgering them with questions about the application cycle and they told me a handful of people in her class got admitted last minute - last within 2 weeks of classes starting- and as someone with no ii’s told me that it’s not over until it’s over. just wanting to hear others testify to this! 🥺
