Simple modification to reduce Timemore 078/078S popcorning
Just wanted to share a simple modification that I made to lid for the hopper of my Timemore 078, that I got two days ago. Really happy with the grinder, but popcorning is annoying.
When feeding beans into the hopper with a half closed lid, there is still a gap towards the back through which grounds can escape.
I took a piece of foam sealing strip and cut it to the inside width of the lid, then trimmed the sides at an angle so that it matches the slope in the hopper. Popcorning is almost eliminated, as long as you try to cover the front part with the tray or bowl from which you are feeding the beans.
Since it is based on an adhesive sealing strip, you can just remove it if it doesn’t fit perfectly or if you don’t like it anymore, it doesn’t have to be permanent.
