Is it harder to write relatable music the older you get?

Reading the post about "Gifted Kid Burnout Syndrome in pop" got me wondering if it's just harder to write relatable music after some age.

Clearly there are "older" pop stars killing it. (Ed Sheeran, Taylor Swift, Adele, Beyonce, obviously).

I wonder if it's harder to write relatable music when you're older. Like, maybe writing about a breakup when you're 17 is edgy and cool but when you're 40 no one wants to hear about it because it's just sad. Haha. I don't know. What do you think?
