PSA: My vet Told me something today..
I took my 4 month old mini poodle in today for his rabies vaccine and to schedule his neutering. The vet looked in his ears and told me that I have to pluck the hair in his ears once a week and that if I didn’t he will get a yeast infection that’s 300$ each time to treat and that once he gets it, it’s a chronic issue. I felt horrible because prior to this I didn’t know. My vet went ahead and did a demonstration for me and cleared it himself. He said it was breed specific. I wanted to share for any potential first time poodle owners out there. My pups grooming session is scheduled for next week as I had to wait awhile after his last routine vaccines. All the more reason to make sure your poodles get lots of vet care!
