Bought in for $100, got up to $400 & stayed there for a few hours. Lost it all by not staying disciplined. I went all in with the last of my chips on pocket 7s. Hit a straight flush with the river a 7♦️ & it also hit high hand promotion!!!!
A few games afterwards I had a J & a pair of Js was flopped. Everyone checked & I bet $20. They all folded & I said “nobody?” & they all said “not with that J you got there” & the dealer said it was an apparent call 🤣🤣 (this was right after a safety meeting outside with some of the other players, won’t be doing that again).
Next hand I had pocket Ks. I saw everyone check so I put down $5. One guy stayed in & said “You gonna bet me out now?” I said “I’m going cheap this time” 🤣 & we bet some more before showdown & I got it. He said “Now that’s how you play poker” 🫶🏻🫶🏻💯
I truly love this game & I have so much more confidence now whereas before I was so hung up on trivial things. I put in more table time & started paying close attention.
This is only my 5th or 6th time playing live EVER. I know it won’t always be like this & there’s so much more to learn but this is a really solid start for me & for someone that never had a support system on any of my talents, this is one I want to hold onto 🫶🏻🫶🏻🤘🏻💯
