Which Pokémon game should I buy?

Hiiiiii, I’m a total newbie to Pokémon. I used to collect cards & I’ve played Pokémon Go, but never played any of the actual games. I want to play one on my switch but I keep seeing different opinions. I’m interested in Scarlet/Violet. Would this game be suitable for a beginner? 😭
