There won't be a WLR effect with MUSIC

WLR effect happened because Carti was actually pushing a new sound (at the very least a new subgenre), and at a mainstream level challenged people's idea of what energetic hip-hop sounds like. What new sound is Carti pushing on this album? All of the songs are either rap caviar bait, or almost entirely derivative of either the singles that came out in 2024 and what rage has evolved to at the mainstream level. Carti made 0 effort to push the envelope forwards sonically, which is what made WLR a special album. MUSIC took zero risks in innovating, which can be seen particularly in the forced Tik Tok style intro that was added to EVILJ0RDAN. Maybe in his vocal delivery there's been growth but again it's nothing we haven't seen up to this point.

To clarify my position a bit more I overall think that MUSIC is an alright album and has a good amount of bangers, just not anything revolutionary and ESPECIALLY not anything worth waiting 4 and a half years for
