Apartments recommendations for CMU Grad Student

I'll start my MechE Masters in August and I'm looking for a 1BR apartment. I'm an international student so I do not know almost anything from Pittsburgh.

-What neighborhoods do you recommend? I read that Oakland is too lousy and its mostly for undergrad students,

-What management company do you recommend?

-How was your experience in that neighborhood?
