MULA 60 DAYS NA PAID MATERNITY LEAVE, NAGAWANG 105 DAYS—SALAMAT KINA RISA AT KIKO!
As we celebrate International Women's Day, we highlight a major victory for women workers through Republic Act No. 11210, or the 105-Day Expanded Maternity Leave Law, which was principally sponsored by Sen. Risa Hontiveros and authored by former Sen. Kiko Pangilinan.
Thanks to this law, the previous 60-day paid maternity leave was extended to 105 days with pay for all female employees in both the private and public sectors. New mothers also have the option to extend for an additional 30 days without pay.
For solo mothers, the law grants an extra 15-day extension, giving them a total of 120 days of paid maternity leave.
This landmark legislation is a huge win for women's rights in both the workplace and family life—proving that with the right laws and policies, we can fight for better conditions for Filipino mothers.
Today, we celebrate not only women but also the laws that protect and empower them—thank you, Risa and Kiko!
