Hip girdlestone treatment and outcomes?

I am a new DPT working in OP. I have a 45 YO M pt who was in a motorcycle accident and had a subsequent infection leading to a L girdlestone procedure. I have not worked with this procedure before and would like as much advice as possible to help him meet his fullest potential. TIA!
