Anything to prevent Japanese Beetles in April?

Every year for the last few years we’ve been getting hundreds of Japanese beetles on our tree in our front yard. A couple of years ago we had to cut out quite a bit of the tree due to dead branches caused by them. Is there anything we can do right now to prevent them from eating up our tree again this year?
