Why does everything look so new?

My partner and I (I'm a born and bred Queenslander and my partner has moved here from Italy) visited Perth as well as the Margaret River/Busselton/Nannup area over a week. Everything from roads, buildings, public transport & the stations, looks so new. Has the region/state just been doing a lot of building in the last decade or is WA just great at looking after stuff??

Considering possibly moving to Perth in the coming months

ETA: wow so many responses already! Living in a sauna for my entire existence has made me forget that things last longer in a dryer climate 🫠. Thanks for all the other information so far. WA is stunning and everyone has been really nice 😊
