Monthly Stipend

Hello everyone!

Just wondering, for the monthly stipend, does your rent come out of that that you then pay your host family? I have read that PCV in Peru (where I am UC for) do in fact pay their family off that monthly stipend. What are you generally left with after paying that?

Honestly, I am just curious how it works.
