If your PC started to crash after the latest NVIDIA Drivers, this post could help you.

TLDR: PC started to crash after the latest Nvidia Drivers, and i haven't been able to solve it. However, everything i've listed below did work for some people, so if you are experiencing the same issue as me, definitely give those solutions a try since it could work for you.

My RTX 2080 super has been working flawlessly since i bought it(2019). I've even changed it's thermal paste a couple of times just to make sure it performs well.

Everything changed when GTA V Enhanced launched. I downloaded it a day or two later, to test the new RT implementation. I played for around 1 hour without any issues.

Later that same day, i checked Nvidia App to see if there was any driver update that optimized said game. And there it was, the 572.70 update, absolutely ready to wreak havoc on my system.

I proceeded to update the drivers and open up the game, which crashed(please watch) around 30 seconds after. Initially, i thought it was an issue exclusive to GTA V, but oh boy, how wrong i was.

Later that day, i decided to play another game, which to my surprise, presented the exact same scenario.

7 days later, and after trying for hours on end, i haven't been able to overcome this issue.

I still can't comprehend how a driver that has been completely removed from my system (allegedly) , STILL causes trouble on my system.

I've arrived to the conclusion that i either have to wait for Nvidia to fix it with a driver update, or that i have to get a new GPU(which i REFUSE).

I decided to make the following list of ALL the things i've tried so far, with the hope of helping those who are experiencing the same issues, because every single item of this list HAVE WORKED for random people experiencing similar problems after the update, according to my research.

Also, if you have a solution that isn't on this list, feel free to comment!

I WILL update the list if i try different things or if i ever find a solution.

Things i have tried:

-Rolled back drivers using DDU with safe mode (tried 566.34, 572.16, 572.60). Didn't work

-fixed a bunch of event viewer errors, such as WHEA. Didn't work

-updated BIOS. Didn't work, however, after doing this, it takes a bit longer for the games to crash(1-2 min)

-unplug and plug the card back again, making sure that it makes the click sound. Didn't work.

-reseated PCIe cable. Didn't work

-swapped the old PCIe cable for a new one. Didn't work

-restored windows. Didn't work

-Tried different games with different APIs. Didn't work, they still crash, some take a bit longer than others.

-used a TV with HDMI. Didn't work

-reseated RAMs in different slots. Didn't work

-used a different set of RAM. Didn't work

-uninstalled the drivers and its leftovers using Revo Uninstaller, Didn't work

-underclocked Core and Memory clock -150 mhz. Didn't work, it just took a bit longer to crash.

-Set NVCP energy settings to Prefer Maximum Performance. Didn't work

I've already checked voltages and GPU temps, everything is okay(65C max).

Things i haven't tried:

-Formatting my PC. I haven't tried this because from what i've read, this didn't solve the issue for anyone.

-Trying my GPU on another system.
