Was 4090 ever readily available at MSRP by walking into a store?

I'm dreading that 5090 may never be readily available for years. So I am wondering for the 4090, was there ever a time where you can walk in casually in the middle of the day into a Best Buy or Microcenter or Walmart and buy it easily at MSRP?
