Staying with a Parisian friend next month on holiday and want to bring a gift! Any suggestions?

Hi! I am staying for two days with a good friend in Paris (Rueil-Malmaison technically) and he will be showing me around the city. I want to bring him and his family a gift but I’m unsure of what is acceptable and don’t want to commit a faux pas by bringing something unacceptable. I’m thinking about bringing a Acqua di Parma cube candle but I don’t want to make anybody uncomfortable with the cost of the gift. Would this be normally okay? I’d appreciate any feedback or other recommendations!
