Pocket 2 Demo units

Hello looking at picking up a pocket 1 or 2 to do walking videos . I can get a new sealed demo unit for half the cost of retail . However the catch is you cannot update the firmware and is locked to 02.01.00.20. Is there anyway to unlock it or will i be missing much staying on this version?
