THINKING OF GETTING CANINE IMPLANT
I really really regret getting my lower canine extracted when I was 14, I didn't know any better. I had a choice between removing 4 premolars or two canines (upper and lower) and of course I wanted to extracted less teeth...
I know in the orthotropics world, every tooth is important for the jaw, and how it aligns, I fully believe that. This is why I am making this post, to warn others and seek advice.
I got braces this year for the SECOND time due to some bite issues, had to get elastics and if anything, my bite is worse, everything slanted and tilted.
I wish I hadn't extracted anything at ALL. My upper jaw seems very good, cannot say the same about my lower, everything has shifted and slanted and I am losing sleep over it. Im only 17, I'm supposed to be worrying about "friend problems" or "what dress to wear for prom" not "I messed up my entire lower jaw and I live in deep regret every single day"
Does anyone have a similar story? Perhaps any suggestions? I'm thinking of reopening the space to implant a canine to match the other side.
I would really appreciate feed back and perhaps feel as though I am not alone ((
