Is $155K total household income before taxes, livable for a family of 4 (two adults, 2 kids) in Cypress, Orange County?

Exploring a job opportunity offering between $155K and $170K base salary before taxes in Cypress, Orange County. Assume I'm offered the minimum ($155K). I'm from abroad.

Withholdings other than taxes: 401k, medical + dental & vision insurance for 4, Death & Disability cover. Not sure on the percentages matched by the company. I don't even know if the base salary includes the matched contributions by the company (I assume it does).

We are a family of 4 (2 adults and 2 kids ages 8 and 13), and need to be able to live with this single income without the desperation for my wife to find a job while we settle in. She will find a job, but we want to make sure we are not living paycheck to paycheck and worse off than our home country, while she finds a job.

Breakdown of expenses I had a thought about, but I'm looking for some realistic idea of the actual costs from residents living here already.

Rent: 2.6k to 3k per month for 2 bed, 2 bath apartment with 1 x free parking space at least.

Utilities: estimate 200-300 per month (not really sure here)

Car purchase (over 60 months) + insurance: I expect to buy a used car between $8k to $12k. Not sure, but estimate $300 to $400. Also not sure about credit due to not having built up a credit rating in the country.

Groceries: We are vegan/vegetarian and don't take alcohol or smoke. Maybe $400 per person, so say $1600? Not sure here, looks steep to me.

401K and Medical insurance are before tax deductions. I assume 10% of gross, for 401k? Medical, I'm clueless, but need good cover + for day to day out of hospital expenses.

Monthly fuel spend: ~$250

School: Kids attending public school, not private.

Personal care and other misc. items: ~ $500

Bottom line, can we live reasonably OK with a ability to save, or will we be taking a huge risk and living paycheck to paycheck.

Living paycheck to paycheck, would be considered a huge risk and non-starter.
