Why does our media coddle Doug Ford?

if Trudeau pulled the little “whoops I walked back my retaliatory tariffs and capitulated to Trump” routine that Ford just did- the media would have been hitting us hard with “Trudeau=bad” articles, and very likely calls for Trudeau to step down in headlines.

However, with Ford- they’ve essentially been partnering with him on a rebranding exercise to make this corrupt nepo seem Prime Ministerial. And I guess even when he eats shit and acquiesces to Trump, the media is still here to wrap it up as a Doug win?
