keeps recording sound even when all muted

idk if i'm stupid because i only recently started using obs but i am trying to only record my mic and the screen so i added a display capture, went onto the audio mixer and made it -inf dB and muted but it still records the sound so i would really like some help to know if i'm just stupid or something all help is appreciated
