Reddit Is A Terrible Place Now.

I deleted my main account that was over 5 years old and didn't look back, ended up making this one like a fool to make a few comments. I instantly regret it and wanted to make a "final post" here so I can air out my feelings regarding this site, I have used reddit regularly for 7 or so years and it wasn't until the last couple of years I've realized just how toxic this place is.

I have noticed that this site has become so much more hateful and judgemental no matter what sub your in, it can be a big popular sub or it can be a hobbyist sub it doesn't matter. There is always somebody leaving hateful judgemental remarks with a "know it all" kind of attitude, i catch myself responding too often to these comments and just reading them ruins my day.

I have spent countless hours at night doom scrolling comments and wasting my time, realizing I'm worrying about what people say and think on here for nothing. I don't believe I've truly learned anything valuable on this site and the overall toxicity that tons of redditors display were the nail in the coffin for me, I wanted to make this post to have some support and maybe not feel like I'm the only one in this.

As far as other social media's (which I also hate) I only have FB mainly for the messenger app to keep in touch with certain family members and friends, no Twitter/X anymore and have never dared to step towards tiktok. I also find Instagram to be just as bad so I'm deleting that as well, I will be keeping this post up to read and reply to comments before the final deletion.

Edit: Thank you to all of the supportive comments in agreement, you have all helped me escape from this toxic chamber of hatred and school yard bullying back into reality. Even after this account is dead and gone I want this to be an inspiration to those feeling the same way who are struggling to remove themselves from this site you will feel so much better ❤ all of the hateful judgement and hate you constantly feel will soon be removed from your head and making your own decisions for yourself will be free and liberating. Please keep being yourself, listen to what you love, watch what you enjoy and wear what you want to wear because that is what makes this world special! Peace out reddit 🤞
