How can you even experiment with wands without Tinker with Wands everywhere ?

Disclaimer I am still a noob but there is something I don't understand... Let's say I explore Overgrown Caverns and find good wands. Am I expected to bring them all the way back ONE by ONE to a Holy Mountain if I wasn't lucky enough to get Tinker with wands everywhere ? Also that's assuming I don't NEED the 4 wands I have on me, which in most of my runs I do.

That's kinda spoiling the fun for me ? I know there is a mod for it (Edit wands everywhere) but surely it can't be the intented gateway loop to spent hours traveling back and forth with wands
