[OC] Calais Campbell, Ageless Wonder

Can we just talk about Calais Campbell for a quick second and how crazy it is that he's still in the league. He's still actively in FA discussions, he was graded 82.3 by PFF last year (Top 10 for Interior Defenders)

...and he's 38. He'd be 39 if he's on a roster in 2025. As an interior defensive end.

Like he played on the 08 Cardinals that lost to the Steelers in the Super bowl...and he's still active. He's had at least 5 sacks in 14 out of his last 16 seasons.

If you look at the 12 players active in 2024 at 38 or older you have:

7 ST-ers, who play reduced roles

  • 4 Long Snappers (Matt Overton [39], J.J. Jansen [39], Jon Weeks [39], Morgan Cox [38]

  • 2 Kickers (Matt Prater [40], Nick Folk [40])

  • 1 Punter (Thomas Morstead [39])

One Tight End, Marcedes Lewis, who played just 16 snaps at Age 40

Two Backup-caliber QBs in 40-year-old Joe Flacco and a 38-year-old GOAT Journeyman, Josh Johnson.

One Starter-caliber QB in 41-year-old A-Rod, who's definitely lost a major step...

...and then Defensive End Calais Campbell, at 38, started all 17 games, earning 5 sacks, as the Dolphins' 8th most active player on defense with 615 Snaps.

That's UNREAL longevity
