Anja/Anya or Louisa?

We are expecting a baby girl later this year and currently torn between these two names. Middle name is still up in the air but they both go well with our very German last name.

My husband is from Germany, and we travel there at least once a year, sometimes more (we live in the southeastern US). We will raise our baby in both languages. If we go with Anja/Anya, I totally get the issue with spelling it “Anja” but the idea of choosing a German name to honor her heritage and then changing the spelling just isn’t sitting well with me, I can’t get past it for some reason. We both really love this name and it’s the front runner at the moment but I’m so torn on the spelling.

Louisa has been my favorite girl name for years but my husband didn’t like it initially. Now he is starting to like the sound of it more and more, and lately he can’t decide which he prefers. Neither can I!

Which name do you like better? Also looking for opinions on Anja/Anya spelling if you prefer that name, although I’m pretty sure I know what most people will say about that.

ETA: Probably would not use one as a middle name since we are floating some honor names for middle name, and want to save whichever we don’t use for a potential future girl if we have another… but I do think Anja Louise/a is beautiful!
