In Mumbai; Lonelier Than Ever

I always thought loneliness was about being alone. But after moving to this city—where there’s no space for even air, just humans, skyscrapers, and endless noise—I realized loneliness can also mean being surrounded by people and still feeling completely invisible.

I used to dream of this city, thinking it would bring opportunities, excitement, and maybe even friendships. Instead, I find myself walking through crowded streets, eating dinner alone, and scrolling through messages that never come. Even in a packed locals, I’ve never felt more alone.

Does anyone else feel this way? How do you cope with the paradox of being lonely in a city that never stops moving?
