Is Mystery Booster 2 worth it?

Im brand new to Magic the gathering, and wanted to make a commander deck. I have some cards already and my commander [[Animar, Soul of Elements]]. My friend gave me a box of mystery booster 2 from an event he went to. Is it worth ripping to build for commander or should I give it back to him and buy something else?
