What exactly is happening in this art?

Maybe I'm blind or just a little tired, but I have no idea where the fire is coming from on Roastmaster. I know he's burning an audience member, but it looks like the flames are just appearing in front of Roastmaster. Granted, he looks like he's casting a spell, but still, the flames look like they just come out of his sleeve instead of his wand/microphone doohickey. Am I reading too hard into this art lol
