Unexpected Side Affect (Alcohol)
M52. Hi, I'm at the end of week 1 on 2.5, and I'm 9kg down already. I've been a heavy drinker (nightly) for 22 years, have a sedentary job and mainly ate junk food and takeaways.
This week I've been making myself eat healthily, walking a min. of 10k steps per day, and have not craved alcohol once. I'm also sleeping much better (I have a Fitbit tracker).
Frankly, this feels like an absolute miracle, and I feel a bit of a fraud. Have any other heavy drinkers (let's be honest, alcoholics) experienced a similar effect longer term? Also, I'm concerned that as I'm vegetarian I might struggle to eat enough protein, as the "protein" section in the supermarket is full of sweeteners and additives - any tips?
