Does a failed quickshift cause transmission damage?

Today I tried out my OEM Quickshifter on the '20 Honda CB650R. When shifting from 1st to 2nd, it dropped into neutral, rev bombing the hell out of it and finally after my second try it shifted to 2nd gear. When it shifted, the bike had a quick lunge forward and bogged a little. It looked like the speed in 1st went too low for a good quickshift on the second try.

I was wondering if this miss-shift could cause transmission or engine damage? It rode normally afterwards, but its still pretty new.. not trying to get a transmission repair before 10k miles if you know what I mean.

Tldr; does a failed quickshift cause damage to any components of my motorcycle?
