Fried Sony Xperia 1 V
Hi all.
I recently fried my Xperia 1 V by plugging it into a 24V USB-C power supply. I replaced the battery with a battery that was made to fit an older model and the phone turned on and started working without any issue... EXCEPT for the fact that it would not charge and the battery meter was stuck at 45%. I was able to get a few things backed up, then it ran out of juice and died again.
Fast forward a few weeks to today and I replaced the USB-C assembly (which I assume handles all of the charging functions) and put the old battery back in. Plugged it in and it still will not charge. I get the initial "low power battery with lightning bolt" icon on the screen for a few seconds, then nothing. Swapped it with the new battery that was working but is now out of juice, and the same thing happens.
Is there another replaceable component that could be causing the issue or am I completely SOL and now the not-so-proud owner of a very expensive paperweight?
