Is my masienda molcajete damaged?

I just ordered a molcajete from Masienda for a Christmas gift. This is how it arrived and there is a gash on the inside. I’m not super familiar with molcajete’s so I’m not sure if this is a normal imperfection or if I should try to return it. Thanks!!
