Citizens Against Eversource on Facebook

So to preface this: Yes. Facebook is a cesspool. That being said, if that's all you got in reply... just move on. I'm not interested.

So there's a rising group on FB called Citizens Against Eversource, and while I agree with their central point - Eversource is committing highway robbery and the state isn't doing anything to properly combat it - the page and the people who run it seem sketchy af.

Facebook has always been a pit of conservative reactionism, and the people running it want to cultivate it there. They'll regularly allow posts about building pipelines and outright homophobia towards Maura Healey, but pro-environmental posts get censored. Additionally, one of the admins - a younger fellow named Elijah Desousa - seems to run the thing centered around his ego; i wouldn't be surprised if he's trying to build up a base for a run at politics.

I believe this based solely on my own interactions for the most part. I attempted to make a relatively comprehensive post about the dangers of pipelines and the effectiveness of wind and solar energy, and my post was denied. Another time, Elijah made a post that was totally irrelevant to Eversource; attacking Ed Markey over "hiding" from constituents for trying to introduce legislation to protect election officials. I was very level in my refutation of his point - even had people come to my defense when he started trying to dismiss me, as my point was cogent and well-phrased. They still blocked me from the group (which is admittedly kind of funny).

I'll admit some bias in that, and you'll have to take my word on it so i won't necessarily blame people for thinking I'm overreacting... but there's other evidence as well.

Elijah likes to screenshot people he's banned and put them up on the page for people to publicly shame. I would call this an egregious act of petty tomfoolery if it weren't so creepy. Don't get it twisted, this type of behavior is recklessly negligent for a public figure to do. It's kind of disgusting. We live in... interesting times, let's say, so I don't think anyone should be posting other people's names and faces to groups like that - particularly not to inspire hatred.

So... i just wanted to see if anyone else had weird interactions on that page, or if you're at all familiar with the admins. Also, if you know someone who frequents the page... maybe check in on them and get their thoughts.
