Marriott Courtyard Waikiki

First, I am a spoiled ambassador elite.

I’m traveling with employer required hotel choices, which means I ended up at the lowest price on the list in the computer software we use.

this courtyard has no food options… Which means the Bonvoy benefit is 500 points a day.

Parking is not advertised on the website, but is mandatory and is $58 per day - there’s an additional destination fee of $30 a day.

I get it, it’s Waikiki so you’re gonna pay a premium. that being said this building does not have views of mountains or wate. the adjacent streets are loud and busy.

they use a split system air conditioner in the rooms that struggles to get the room temperature below 75°. All the rooms smell of mildew and wet. Maintenance is lackluster. for instance the air conditioner leaks water into the room, as it does in the rooms of all of my colleagues staying here. We each individually called maintenance to see if it could be fixed, and the answer was basically put a towel under the air conditioner, and don’t leave your stuff there or it will get wet.

they have a decent pool. Since I’m working 14 hour days I probably won’t use it.

The front desk staff are nice enough.

well, that’s all I have to report, I think the next time I come to Waikiki, I will pick a different hotel if it all possible. Unfortunately it means leaving the Bonvoy brand, I am ambassador elite here, but don’t have that level of status anywhere else.
