Two cents on Manipal from an alum
Hey juniors, I'm a passout from a few years ago.
Working in corporate, when I look back at my college life, I can most definitely say that it was the peak.
You folks have no idea what Manipal has to offer, it's probably the loveliest environment you can get in the country. I've travelled to a few places and resided in a couple as well, but there's no place like Manipal.
I'd want to share some pointers I have for y'all,
Be open, try everything, do not hold yourself back.
Leave your preconceived notions back at your respective hometowns because this place is magic.
Show love to the locals, and I promise you'll get 2x back.
Trust the admin, I'm sure you'll be judging me for this, lol, but I haven't been paid to write this and I've had my fair share of troubles with the MAHE admin, but things are worse in the outside world.
These formative years will define how you lead your life in the coming few years, so live life to the fullest, Manipal literally has everything you need at the disposal. Beaches, clubs, amazing peers, infra and the environment. Trust me, once you folks get out and come to the real world, you'll be missing every bit of this.
Seek help when needed, I was lucky to have some really good people around me, and those are the people who are my closest till date. Quick spoiler, you don't make a lot of friends in the office. Also, shoutout to the SSC ( student support centre ). I can personally vouch for the level of support you get from the SSC.
Go out, rent a scooter, travel. Dakshin Kannada is beautiful.
Okay I guess that was a lot of 'gyaan', pardon me for the long post. I'll end this by doing a, "I miss -" list I miss Deetee, Hoode, Kotian's (used to be Shenoys), 5am walks to TC, Hanging Bridge, Malpe, Kaup, Mattu, Padubidri, Mulki, Coorg, Hanging Bridge, Jog Falls, Gokarna, Pai Tiffins, Mandavi Emerald, VGT, Manipal Lake, End Point, Sigma and the list goes on.
