Dah tua susah cari kerja

I got laid off recently with only two months' compensation. I’m 52 and have been job hunting, but I feel like my age is working against me. Despite being willing to accept a salary lower than my last drawn pay, all I’ve gotten are rejection emails.

I have 28 years of experience as an Executive Assistant, Corporate Communications, and Government Relations — but even with that, I’m struggling to land a job. I managed three interviews but was ghosted before the second round. I even applied for a retail grocery assistant manager role but was told I lacked experience (they want someone who has worked with Lotus or Giant), they can only offer a cashier role at RM1700. I agreed, but then they said they preferred fresh grads and felt the job’s physical demands would be too much for me.

I’m healthy just not slim😑. I used to be an avid gym-goer (when can still pay fee).

Money’s running low, my husband’s salary isn’t enough, and our kids are still in college (final year). I can only withdraw my EPF in three years.

Is there any work out there for someone like me?
