What unsuspecting places in Malaysia had a dark past?

Everytime I pass by Lalaport Mall, I can't help but get an eerie feeling of its Pudu Jail dark past. I went there as a child when they temporarily opened the old Pudu Jail to the Public in the 90s. The place was real and dark - an open area where they do sebat/caning (they even showed a video), rows of empty jail cells with inmates' graffiti on the wall, workshops and kitchens for prisoners, and the scariest place was the one where they hang prisoners. Imagine how many hundreds of prisoners died or were tortured there and now it is a white elephant mall with a roof top garden.
