Mac mini / Samsung Smart Monitor issues

Hi, I have a Mac mini M4 (2024) and a Samsung Smart Monitor, both brand new, less than three months old. I have a few issues:

  1. When I go to use the Smart Monitor as a computer display, it is recognised as an Apple TV.

1b. When I am watching TV (with Smart Monitor as a TV), the screen will suddenly jump to the Mac lock screen. I then have to go all the way back to my original app and show, only for it to happen again not long after.

1c. I wish to be able to turn the Smart Monitor on with the remote on to the Samsung interface (for TV) but move my mouse or interact with the computer in some way to turn it on with to the Mac interface. Is this achievable?

  1. The sound on my Smart Monitor often gets out of sync with the video. There is no pattern to this and is infuriating. How do I fix this?

2b. I have installed the Apple TV app, to watch Apple shows, however there doesn’t appear to be a way to add this to the dock (where all of the built-in apps like Netflix and Disney+ are). How can I add Apple TV there?
